Talks Planned As Arsenal Prepare To Offer Star Five-Year Deal Worth £150,000-A-Week

Arsenal are set to hold formal talks with Jack Wilshere in the new year with the club ready to offer the midfielder a new five-year deal worth £150,000-a-week, according to reports.

Wilshere still has over three-and-a-half-years remaining on his current deal but it seems we’re keen to secure his long-term future with a fresh contract.

The Mirror claims Arsenal have talks planned with the 22-year-old’s representatives in January where we’ll put forward a five-year deal worth an estimated £150,000-a-week, which will also include significant bonuses to further boost the players salary.

If agreed, it will make Wilshere one of Arsenal’s highest earners and will be a clear sign that Arsene Wenger sees the England international as a vital part of our long-term future.

After years of injury frustration, Jack has finally been able to keep himself relatively injury-free this season and it’s beginning to pay dividends on the pitch, particularly for England where he was named MOTM in their recent games with Slovenia and Scotland.

There is still a debate over his best position with Roy Hodgson seemingly getting the best out of him in a deep-lying playmaker role while Wenger seems to prefer the youngster in a more advanced position at Arsenal.

Either way, it looks like the Arsenal hierarchy are convinced Wilshere is going to be an important player for the club over the coming years and many fans feel he’s got what it takes to be a future captain.

However, it’s vital he steers clear of injury in order to fulfill his potential and frustratingly he was forced off against United on Saturday with yet another ankle problem. It doesn’t appear to be too serious but I’d still question the logic in rewarding Jack with a new five-year deal when he’s still so susceptible to injury and we’ve yet to really see him flourish in an Arsenal shirt over the course of a full season.

This is madness. This will seal arsenal’s fate. Jack is more suited to rugby than football. Do I find any brains in Jackl to enable him for a side in the coca cola championship? Maybe yes, but still with reservation. Is it the Manager AW helping Jack look this funny and should therefore be rewarded with such a contract? Then Diaby should be given 200,000 pounds. This is how AW wants to be remembered. The team requires better attacking midfielders in the mould of OZIL, REUS,DRAXLER. Disgusting.
