[Video Goals] Arsenal 4-1 Newcastle: Cazorla & Giroud Hit Two Each For Gunners

By on December 13, 2014

Arsenal got their league campaign back on track with an impressive 4-1 victory over Newcastle United at the Emirates on Saturday night.

We began well and took a deserved lead when Olivier Giroud opened the scoring with a towering header from a lovely Alexis Sanchez cross in the fifteenth minute.

It was 2-0 just after half-time when Santi Cazorla finished well after being set-up by Sanchez once again, and Giroud got his second of the game to make it 3-0 before the hour mark with a lovely side-footed finished.

The visitors got one back when Ayoze Perez headed home from a free-kick but Arsenal wrapped up the three points late on when Cazorla cooly chipped home a penalty after Danny Welbeck was fouled in the box.

The win sees us move level on points with fifth-placed Southampton and we’re now just two points off third-placed Manchester United.
