[Video Goals] Liverpool 2-2 Arsenal: Skrtel Saves 10-Man Reds In Stoppage Time

By on December 21, 2014

Martin Skrtel scored in the 97th minute to rescue a draw for 10-man Liverpool against Arsenal at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

Liverpool dominated the opening period and took a deserved lead when Philippe Coutinho fired home off the inside of the post with a low drive in the 44th minute.

The hosts lead didn’t last long though as Arsenal grabbed an unlikely equaliser when Mathieu Debuchy headed home in first half stoppage time to make it 1-1.

The Gunners then went ahead when Cazorla combined well with Olivier Giroud before the Frenchman swept home from close range to make it 2-1 in the 64th minute.

Liverpool were then reduced to 10-men when Fabio Borini was sent off for a second bookable offence but Skrtel popped up with a towering header to salvage a point for the Merseysiders in the 97th minute.
