Chelsea moved three points clear at the top of the Premier League after easing to a 2-0 win over Stoke City at the Britannia on Monday night.

The Blues opened the scoring early on when John Terry powered home a header from a Cesc Fabregas corner in just the second minute.

Both sides had chances to score with Steven N’Zonzi going closest for the hosts with Thibaut Courtois pulling off an excellent save from his deflected effort.

However, Chelsea wrapped up the three points when Fabregas scuffed home the second with 10 minute remaining from a pin-point Eden Hazard pass.

The win moves Chelsea three points clear of second-placed Manchester City at the top of the table after 17 games and ensures they’re in control heading into the festive period.
