Tottenham Hotspur closed in on the top four after narrowly beating Leicester City 2-1 at the King Power Stadium this afternoon.

Spurs opened the scoring in just the first minute when Harry Kane continued his goal-scoring form with a fine left-footed finish from close range.

Leicester levelled when Leonardo Ulloa cooly flicked home at the near post following some good work from Riyad Mahrez down the right wing.

Tottenham then made it 2-1 in the 71st minute when Christian Eriksen whipped in a free-kick from 25 yards that deceived goalkeeper Ben Harper.

The hosts pushed for a late equaliser but Spurs held on to secure a valuable win that moves them up to sixth place in the Premier League table and just two points off fourth-placed Southampton.
