[Video Goals] Arsenal 2-1 QPR: Sanchez Magic Fires 10-Man Gunners Past Hoops

By on December 26, 2014

10-man Arsenal held on to beat Queens Park Rangers 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium tonight thanks to goals from Alexis Sanchez and Tomas Rosicky.

Sanchez wasted an excellent opportunity to break the deadlock early on after seeing his penalty saved by Rob Green but the Chilean put things right when he headed home Kieran Gibb’s cross just before half time.

Olivier Giroud then got himself stupidly sent off for head-butting Nedum Onuoha early in the second half but Arsenal managed to make it 2-0 in the 65th minute when Tomas Rosicky fired home following some good work from Sanchez.

The visitors then got themselves back in the game when Mathieu Debuchy was adjudged to have fouled Junior Hoilett in the area and Charlie Austin fired home the resulting spot kick for 2-1.

QPR pushed for a late equaliser but we held on to secure a vital three points that see us climb up to sixth in the Premier League table and just a two points behind fourth-placed West Ham.
