[Video Goals] West Ham 1-2 Arsenal: Gunners Hold On To Beat Hammers

By on December 28, 2014

Arsenal ground out a hard fought 2-1 win over West Ham at Upton Park this afternoon thanks to goals from Santi Cazorla and Danny Welbeck.

We with-held some early pressure from the hosts to take the lead in the 41st minute when Cazorla was brought down in the area by Winston Reid. The Spaniard took the resulting penalty himself and fired home from the spot for 1-0.

It was 2-0 just three minutes later when Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain did well to find space before finding Danny Welbeck with a low cross and the striker made no mistake from close range.

The Hammers pulled one back early in the second half when Cheikhou Kouyate got the better of Mathieu Debuchy to head home for 2-1 in the 54th minute, however, we withstood some late pressure to secure the win and move level on points with fourth-placed Southampton.
