[Video Goals] Liverpool 4-1 Swansea: Lallana Hits Brace As Reds Sinks Swans

By on December 29, 2014

Adam Lallana grabbed a brace as Liverpool beat Swansea City 4-1 at Anfield on Monday night.

The hosts opened the scoring in the 33rd minute when Alberto Moreno was on hand to slot home from close range following a Jordan Henderson cross from the right.

It was 2-0 shortly after half-time in bizarre circumstances when Lukasz Fabianski’s routine clearance rebound off Lallana and into the empty net but Swansea got themselves back into the game straight from the restart when Gylfi Sigurdsson pulled one back from close range in the 52nd minute.

However, Liverpool restored their two-goal cushion just 10 minutes later when Lallana waltzed into the area before slotting home a left-footed finish and the three points were safe when Jonjo Shelvey headed into his own net from a Henderson corner in the 69th minute.

The win sees Liverpool move above Swansea into eight place in the table and five points behind fourth placed Southampton.

Why is Skrtel still in the team? The goal conceded against Swansea was again due to his inability to mark his man. He is the root cause of a weak Liverpool backline in recent seasons after Hyppia retired. The effect of both Allen & Johnson’s presences in the team has showed. Both are liabilities as well as Skrtel! These 3 fellas should be shown the Anfield exit asap!
