Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has been able to recall Steven Gerrard after he missed the Aston Villa game with a minor knock and the skipper starts in midfield alongside Lucas Leiva.

Jordan Henderson moves to the right with Lazar Markovic seemingly playing further forward in support of Raheem Sterling, with Fabio Borini unfortunate to miss out after his goal-scoring display last time out.

As for Chelsea, Jose Mourinho brings in Thiabut Courtois with Petr Cech dropping to the bench while John Obi Mikel starts in midfield alongside Nemanja Matic.
