Sturridge To Start? Predicted Liverpool Starting XI To Face West Ham

Liverpool will be looking to put Tuesday’s disappointment behind them when they take on West Ham at Anfield on Saturday. Here is the side I think Brendan Rodgers will select:

Goalkeeper: Rodgers praised Simon Mignolet for his recent performances so perhaps the Belgian is starting to win over his manager again. Either way, Mignolet will start in this weekend as Brad Jones is still out with a thigh injury.

Defence: The Reds boss has a doubt over Mamadou Sakho after the Frenchman was forced off during Tuesday’s defeat to Chelsea with a back injury. Sakho will be handed a late fitness test and if he fails to make it, then Dejan Lovren is on stand by to fill in alongside Martin Skrtel and Emre Can at the back.

Midfield: Rodgers could opt to stick with the same midfield four that started on Tuesday as he was full of praise for how well his side played at Stamford Bridge. That would see Lazar Markovic and Alberto Moerno keep their places on the wings with Jordan Henderson alongside Lucas in central midfield.

Attack: Steven Gerrard is likely to be rested which could see Adam Lalllana come back in to the side. Daniel Sturridge is almost certainly going to be back in the squad but I don’t see Rodgers rushing him back too soon, so I think we’ll see the striker among the subs. Therefore, Philippe Coutinho should keep his place and support Raheem Sterling in attack.

Here is how I think we’ll see Liverpool line-up:

What do you think of the team? What line-up would you go with?
