Daniel Sturridge scored on his return as Liverpool beat West Ham 2-0 at Anfield this afternoon.
After a goalless first half, the Reds eventually broke the deadlock as Raheem Sterling got behind the Hammers defence before slotting home for 1-0 in the 51st minute.
Then came the moment Liverpool fans have been waiting for as Sturridge was introduced for the final 20 minutes and he didn’t take long to make his mark, as the striker made it 2-0 in the 80th minute with a fine near post finish after being teed-up by Coutinho.
Liverpool closed out the game to secure the three points and move above West Ham into seventh in the table, and they are now just four points off fourth-placed Southampton.
