President Confirms Chelsea Offer For €40m-Rated Man Utd Target

Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has confirmed that Chelsea are among the clubs who have made an offer for €40m-rated Manchester United target Paulo Dybala

The January transfer window is now closed but that won’t stop the newspapers from speculating ahead of the summer so we’ll bring you all the news and gossip. Today, Chelsea are linked with Manchester United target Paulo Dybala….

Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has confirmed that Chelsea are among the clubs who have made an offer for €40m-rated Manchester United target Paulo Dybala, according to Sky Sports.

Dybala has emerged as one of the hottest properties in European football after an excellent season in Serie A that’s seen him score 11 times and set up six others in 17 appearances for Palermo so far this campaign.

His impressive form in front of goal has led to speculation of a big money move and Palmero president Zamparini has now revealed that he’s ready to sell the youngster to the highest bidder after Dybala refused to sign a new contract extension with the club.

Several clubs have been credited with an interest in the 21-year-old with Manchester United among those understood to be interested in luring him away from Italy. However, while Zamparini failed to namedrop United, he did confirm that Chelsea, Juventus and PSG have already made offers for the strikers services.

“I will sell him, I am almost certain of this,”

“(Juventus general director Giuseppe) Marotta told me that they are very interested in the player.

“They (Juve) are ready to negotiate. I have warned Marotta already that I’ve had so many offers for Dybala from half of the teams in Europe. Chelsea, PSG and other English and Spanish clubs.” Zamparini is quoted as saying by Sky Sports

Dybala’s current deal expires in 2016 and Palmero thought they had come to an agreement that would see him sign a three-year extension worth €9m-per-season. However, according to Zamparini, the youngster upped his demands to €15m and the outspoken president has now slammed the player and his representatives.

“We had an agreement with Dybala for 9million (euros a year) but the next day everything changed,” Zamparini said.

“I was told that Dybala would no longer sign and that he now wanted up to 15million (euros) in wages. No way!”

“This is the fault of those that surround him. They have made him lose all sense of reality.

“I had treated him like a son having spent 12million euros to acquire him. I will not speak to Dybala again. I will appoint a company to negotiate Dybala’s sale.”

It looks like Dybala is going to be one of this summers hottest transfer stories and the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United are expected to be heavily involved.

The young Argentinean striker is certainly a huge talent and despite the fact he’ll have just 12 months left to run on his contract this summer, it’s reported that Palermo will demand a fee of around €40m (£30m) for his signature.

In today’s over-inflated market, the Italians will probably end up getting that kind of money, which is a huge sum for a player who has only really performed at the highest level for the past 18 months.

However, it would be great to see him play in the Premier League as he’s one of the most exciting young attackers in world football, but we’ll have to see whether the likes of Chelsea or United are able to win the race for his signature.
