Arsenal Blow As Star Ruled Out For 4 Weeks But Wilshere Set For FA Cup Return
Arsenal have been dealt a huge blow with a star player being ruled out for at least four weeks but Jack Wilshere is expected to return this weekend.
Arsenal have been handed a major injury blow with Aaron Ramsey expected to miss at least four weeks with a fresh hamstring injury, according to the Telegraph.
Ramsey came off the bench midway through the second half during our 2-1 win over Leicester City on Tuesday night but lasted less than 10 minutes after pulling up with yet another hamstring problem.
The Welshman was immediately replaced and Arsene Wenger admitted after the game that it wasn’t looking good for the midfielder.
It seems those fears have been realised as the Telegraph are one of several newspapers who are reporting that after an initial assessment of Ramsey’s injury, the club expect him to miss at least four weeks.
The 24-year-old has only recently returned from a six week absence with a hamstring injury that he picked up against Galatasaray in December and it’s the third time he’s been sidelined with a hamstring issue this season alone.
Wenger admitted he’s tried to be cautious with bringing Ramsey back too soon and was reluctant to play him at all last night, so the chances are he’ll be even more cautious with him this time around and I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s out for even longer than four weeks.
It’s a real blow that Ramsey has suffered yet another injury as we approach the business end of the season as the midfielder will now miss upcoming games against Middlesbrough, Crystal Palace, Monaco (H), Everton, QPR and West Ham, while he’ll also be in a race against time to feature in the second leg of our Champions League tie with Monaco on Tuesday 17th March.
There is some better news on Alexis Sanchez though as the Telegraph claim that Arsenal are hopeful he’ll shake-off a knee knock to play some part against Middlesbrough on Sunday – although he’s likely to start from the bench.
The newspaper also suggests that Jack Wilshere will be back in the squad this weekend but it remains to be seen whether we’ll risk him from the start after over three months out with an ankle injury.
