[Video Goals] Man Utd 2-1 Wolfsburg: Mata Inspires United Comeback

Juan Mata inspired Manchester United to a 2-1 comeback victory over Wolfsburg in the Champions League at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

The visitors took an early lead when Daniel Caliguri finished off a superb passing move that cut United’s defence open in the 3rd minute.

United drew level in the 33rd minute when they were awarded a penalty after Wayne Rooney’s shot was handled in the area. Juan Mata made no mistake from the spot to make it 1-1 at the break.

The home side then took the lead shortly after half-time when Chris Smalling latched on to Mata’s flick to guide the ball home and make it 2-1.

Both sides had chances to add to the scoreline but it ended 2-1 to get United’s Champions League campaign off and running.
