Arsenal eased to a 3-1 victory over Sunderland at the Emirates this afternoon to move up to second place in the Premier League table.
After a sluggish start, we took the lead midway through the first half when Mesut Ozil played a pin-point pass to release Joel Campbell who cooly slotted home for 1-0 in the 33rd minute.
With half-time approaching, Laurent Kosicleny gave away a needless foul out wide and Olivier Giroud sent the ball into the top corner of his own net from the resulting free-kick for 1-1 in the 45th minute.
However, the striker made up for his error by restoring our lead with a superb header from an Aaron Ramsey cross in the 63rd minute before the Welshman sealed the three points with a third in stoppage time.
The win sees us climb up to second place in the table after Manchester City lost away to Stoke while Manchester United were held to a 0-0 draw at home by West Ham. Leicester City continued their sensational form with another impressive away win at Swansea to move two points clear at the top.
