[Video Goals] Man Utd 2-1 Swansea: Rooney & Martial On Target As Reds Sink Swans

Wayne Rooney scored the winner as Manchester United beat Swansea City 2-1 at Old Trafford this afternoon.

After a goalless first forty-five minutes, United finally broke the deadlock shortly after half time when Anthony Martial powered home a header following an Ashley Young cross from the right.

Swansea then pulled level in the 70th minute when midfielder Gyli Sigurdsson glanced a header past David De Gea for 1-1.

However, the hosts won it just seven minutes later when Rooney was on hand to flick home a superb effort at the near post following some great work from Martial.

Swansea pushed for an equaliser but United held on to secure a vital three points which sees them close the gap on fourth-placed Tottenham to just two points.
