Everton vs Chelsea Preview, Team News, Line-Ups, Betting Tips & Predicted Score

Chelsea take on Everton in the FA Cup at Goodison Park on Saturday evening. Here’s a preview with team news, likely line-ups, betting tips and predicted score

Goodison Park

Chelsea will look to book their place in the semi finals of the FA Cup when they take on Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday evening.

The Blues crashed out of the Champions League at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain in midweek after a disappointing 2-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge so they’ll be desperate to get back on track tomorrow.

With the defending Premier League champions languishing down in mid-table and ten points off the top four, the FA Cup is now the only thing that Guus Hiddink can salvage from a disastrous campaign.

However, Chelsea face a tough trip to Goodison Park as Roberto Martinez will be demanding a response from his players after they let slip a two-goal lead to lose 2-3 to West Ham last weekend, so they’ll be keen to secure their place in the last four at Wembley.

Team news

Chelsea have been handed a major boost with the news that John Terry is fit and available for selection after recovering from a hamstring injury that’s kept him out of the last six games.

Branislav Ivanovic is now expected to revert to right-back in order to make room for Terry alongside Gary Cahill while Cesar Azpilicueta will move across to left-back.

Diego Costa will have a late fitness test after limping out of the defeat to PSG with a hip injury but Hiddink will give the striker every chance to prove his fitness.

Eden Hazard has been passed fit despite carrying his own hip problem while Alexandre Pato could make his long-awaited debut.

Everton will be without the suspended Kevin Mirallas following his sending off against the Hammers last week while Aaron Lennon and Bryan Oviedo are slight doubts for the game.

Likely Line-Ups

Predicted Score

Everton 2-2 Chelsea: The Blues will be bitterly disappointed to have lost to PSG and they will no doubt still be feeling the effects of that match tomorrow. Everton have endured an inconsistent season but they are always a danger on home soil and I can see the two sides playing out a 2-2 draw to force a replay.

Betting Tips

Chelsea are the narrow 9/5 favourites with the bookmakers but Football-Talk can get you enhanced odds of 7/1 on an away win – just click here to take advantage of these crazy odds. However, my prediction of 2-2 is on offer at 11/1 while I also like the look of Diego Costa as the first goalscorer at 5/1, and if we combine those bets in a score-cast then we get very tempting odds of 55/1.
