[Team] Man Utd U21’s vs Middlesbrough U21’s: First Team Duo Start For Utd

First team regulars Wayne Rooney and Phil Jones start for the Manchester United under-21’s tonight for the visit of Middlesbrough to Old Trafford.

Rooney has been on the sidelines since suffering a knee ligament injury back in mid-February but the skipper returned to training earlier this month and will continue to work on his match fitness with a run-out against the Boro under-21’s this evening.

Jones has also been out for an extended period with a foot injury but the defender will continue to work on his fitness having turned out for the under-21’s against Chelsea last week.

Louis van Gaal will no doubt be watching on with interest to see how the duo come through tonight’s game ahead of the first team’s clash with Aston Villa this Saturday.
