[Video Goals] Liverpool 4-0 Everton: Origi On Target As Reds Thrash Sorry Blues

Liverpool moved to within six points of the top four after thrashing Everton 4-0 at Anfield in the Merseyside derby on Wednesday night.

The Reds dominated from the outset but after spurning a number of decent chances, the hosts had to wait until the 43rd minute to finally break the deadlock as Divock Origi headed home a James Milner cross for 1-0.

Liverpool soon doubled their lead as Mamadou Sakho headed home from close range to make it 2-0 in first half stoppage time – Milner once again with the assist.

Everton were reduced to 10-men shortly after half-time when centre-back Mori was shown his marching orders and Jurgen Klopp’s men wrapped-up the three points as Daniel Sturridge beat the offside trap to slot home for 3-0 in the 61st minute.

Liverpool continued to create plenty of chances and eventually got a fourth when Philippe Coutinho fired home from the edge of the area to seal a memorable night for the Kop.
