[Video Goals] Tottenham 1-2 Southampton: Davis Double Sinks Spurs

Tottenham’s hopes of finishing above North London rivals Arsenal took a huge blow after losing 2-1 to Southampton at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon.
Spurs started brightly and opened the scoring in just the 16th minute when Heung-min Son rounded Frazer Forster before cooly taking his time and slotting home for 1-0.
Southampton responded well and levelled things up when Steven Davis made it 1-1 in the 31st minute – although Hugo Lloris will surely feel he should have done better to keep it out.
The visitors then took the lead with 20 minutes remaining as Davis got his second of the game when he drilled home a fine strike in to the bottom corner form the edge of the area.
Tottenham almost grabbed a last gasp equaliser but Nacer Chadli was denied by a superb save from Forster in injury time as the Saints held on to secure a vital win.
The result leaves Tottenham second in the table but Arsenal can move level on points with victory over Manchester City this afternoon.
