We finished off a frustrating season in style after thrashing Aston Villa 4-0 at the Emirates this afternoon to steal second position in the table after Spurs went down 5-1 at Newcastle.
Arteta came off the bench to ‘score’ the fourth goal (it will probably end up going down as an own goal) and was left in tears at the end of the game as he prepares to retire and move in to coaching.
Unfortunately Rosicky wasn’t able to make an appearance but the squad gave him a guard of honour after the game as he gets set to leave Arsenal after an injury-plagued 10-year spell at the club.
Some of the players have now taken to Twitter to pay tribute to the departing midfielders with Petr Cech, Joel Campbell, Hector Bellerin and Emi Martinez sending messages to the pair on Twitter this evening.
