[Photos] 18-Man Squad Revealed As Man Utd Players Head To London For FA Cup Final
Here are some photos of the 18-man squad that left Carrington for London this evening ahead of tomorrow’s FA Cup final with Crystal Palace.
Marouane Fellaini, Matteo Darmian and Marcos Rojo have all been included in Louis van Gaal’s 18-man squad for Saturday’s FA Cup final but Memphis Depay misses out, according to the Manchester Evening News.
van Gaal admitted at his pre-match press conference yesterday that he had some tough selection decisions to make after four players put themselves back in contention.
Fellaini returns after serving his three-match suspension while Darmian is back in the squad after overcoming an ankle that kept him out of the final two Premier League games.
Rojo is also back in contention after recovering from the knock that saw him miss the Bournemouth game in midweek and the Argentine is set to replace Cameron Borthwick-Jackson after he was left out of the 18-man travelling party.
Morgan Schneiderlin also returns after recovering from illness, however, the big casualty is summer signing Depay who hasn’t made it in to van Gaal’s 18 despite being included in all 58 of United’s previous matchday squad’s this season.
Phil Jones has also made the cut despite not featuring for the first team squad since way back in January and he was among the travelling party that left for Stockport station on the team bus earlier this evening.
Here is the full 18-man squad according to the Manchester Evening News:
De Gea, Romero, Valencia, Darmian, Jones, Smalling, Blind, Rojo, Fellaini, Herrera, Carrick, Schneiderlin, Lingard, Young, Mata, Rooney, Martial, Rashford
