The opening of the summer transfer window is fast approaching so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Liverpool and Man Utd are linked with Rafa Silva…
The agent of Braga attacker Rafa Silva has confirmed interest from England with Liverpool and Manchester United among the clubs eyeing a move for the Portuguese international, according to the International Business Times.
Silva has developed in to one of the hottest prospects in Portuguese football since joining Braga from Feirense in the summer of 2013 with his excellent displays attracting interest from all over Europe.
The 23-year-old scored 12 goals and provided a further 8 assists for the Primeira Liga outfit this season and played a key role in helping Braga end their 50-year wait for a domestic cup thanks to their penalty shoot-out win over Porto last weekend.
The IBTimes claims that Liverpool and Manchester United are among the clubs who’ve been showing a keen interest in the Silva with the Premier League giants believed to have made regular checks on the young attacker over the course of the season.
The players agent, António Araújo, has now confirmed there has been interest from England and feels the Premier League would suit his clients style of play perfectly.
“Rafa’s style of play can help him adapt in the Premier League and there have been interest from clubs in England,” Araujo told IBTimes UK.
“Not only England, but from other countries too. We will do what is best for Rafa cause he has a potential to become a great player.”
Silva is predominantly played as a left winger for Braga but is also capable of playing anywhere across the three attacking positions behind the striker so he’d give United or Liverpool plenty of options if he joined either club this summer.
Jurgen Klopp has already been busy in the market with goalkeeper Loris Karius becoming their third major signing following the arrivals of defender Joel Matip and midfielder Marko Grujic, but the German coach is expected to bring in another attacker and it appears Silva is on his radar.

Jose Mourinho has just been appointed as the new United manager and I’m sure he’ll be busy this summer rebuilding the squad he’s inherited from Louis van Gaal. Strengthening his attack is likely to be a priority after United only managed 49 league goals last season and Silva would give Mourinho versatility in the final third.
Silva has been selected in the Portugal squad for this summers European Championships so Klopp and Mourinho may want to make their move soon as a positive showing in France will only increase the competition for his signature even further.
