Man Utd Fail With Audacious Approach For Arsenal Star
Arsenal have rejected an audacious approach from Man Utd for Laurent Koscielny with the defender also indicating he has no interest in moving to Old Trafford
The opening of the summer transfer window is fast approaching so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd are linked with Laurent Koscielny….
Arsenal have rejected an audacious approach from Manchester United for Laurent Koscielny with the defender also indicating he has no interest in moving to Old Trafford, according to a report in the Metro.
Koscielny joined Arsenal as an unknown defender from French outfit Lorient back in 2010 but has developed in to one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League over the past six years.
The French international has been rock solid at the back for the Gunners in recent seasons and was a central figure in helping the North Londoners secure consecutive FA Cups victories in 2014 and 2015.
It appears Koscielny has found an admirer in Jose Mourinho as the Daily Star reported last month that the Portuguese coach had identified the Arsenal defender as a potential transfer target once he was appointed as the new United boss.
Mourinho was unveilled at Old Trafford last week and it appears he’s wasted no time in formalising his interest in the 30-year-old as the Metro are citing a report from LE10 Sport that claims United have made an audacious approach to Arsenal for the centre-back.
However, unsurprisingly, the French outlet suggests that the Gunners knocked back United’s advances while Koscielny has also reportedly made it clear he isn’t interested in joining Mourinho at Old Trafford.
Arsene Wenger insists his days of having to sell his best players to Arsenal’s rivals is over so it comes as no surprise to hear that the Frenchman has no interest in selling Koscielny to United this summer.
In fact, speculation suggests that Wenger is ready to hand Koscielny the captains armband at the Emirates following the departure of Mikel Arteta, so it certainly doesn’t look like he’ll be going anywhere any time soon.

The snub means Mourinho is now going to have to move on to other targets in his search for a new centre-back to partner Chris Smalling next season, with Daley Blind being tipped to leave should a suitable offer come in.
