The opening of the summer transfer window is now open for business so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Arsenal and Liverpool are linked with Marcelo Brozovic…
Arsenal and Liverpool are set to do battle over the £21m signing of Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic this summer, according to the Express.
Brozovic made his name at Dinamo Zagreb before joining Inter on an initial 18-month loan deal that saw the Italian giants make the move a permanent one during the January transfer window at the start of the year.
The 23-year-old scored 7 goals and provided a further 8 assists in his 35 appearances last season to help Inter secure a top four finish in the Serie A table and it appears his impressive form has attracted interest from the Premier League.
The Express claim that Arsenal and Liverpool are both showing a keen interest in signing the Croatian international midfielder this summer but could face even more competition from La Liga giants Atletico Madrid.
The newspaper suggests that the English duo are now weighing-up offers for Brozovic but any potential deal wouldn’t come cheap as Inter are demanding £21m to let him leave the San Siro this summer.
We’ll have to wait and see whether Arsenal or Liverpool will be prepared to pay that kind of money for Brozovic – who featured for Croatia at Euro 2016 – but the midfielder would certainly be an exciting signing if either club could agree a deal.
Arsene Wenger has already signed Granit Xhaka but Mikel Arteta, Mathieu Flamini and Tomas Rosicky have all left the Emirates this summer so the Gunners boss could be looking to further strengthen his midfield options with Brozovic on his radar.

Jurgen Klopp has been extremely active this summer bringing in four new players but with Joe Allen and Lucas Leiva’s futures at Anfield in doubt, the German coach still has work left to do in the transfer market and Brozovic would be an excellent replacement for either player.
