Conte Confirms Major Injury for Chelsea Ahead of Arsenal Clash
Chelsea travel to the Emirates Stadium to take on Arsenal in the Premier League’s Saturday evening game this weekend.
The London rivals head into the clash level on 10 points after five games, currently battle it out for the Champions League places.
Ahead of the game, Blues boss Antonio Conte has been speaking with the media today at his pre-match press conference and has confirmed a big injury blow for their trip across London.
The Italian tactician was able to confirm that John Terry will not be fit to feature against Arsenal on Saturday.
Terry suffered an ankle injury in the 2-2 draw with Swansea City earlier in the month and is yet to make his return.
Antonio Conte told Chelseafc.com:
“John Terry is working hard but he didn’t recover for the game against Arsenal.
“I don’t know when he will play because it is important what the player feels, and the pain he feels.”
The Chelsea boss was able to give some positive news on the long-awaited return of Kurt Zouma. The French centre-back has been out of action since rupturing his cruciate ligaments against Manchester United in earlier February.
Zouma is expected to return to full training next week with a view of being able to make his first-team return after the October international break.
