Arsene Wenger, Antonio Conte, Jurgen Klopp and Mark Hughes have been nominated for the Premier League Manager of the Month for October. Here’s a look at the four candidates…
Arsene Wenger
Arsenal have enjoyed an excellent start to the new season with Wenger guiding the club to three wins from their four league games last month to ensure the Gunners keep pace with joint leaders Manchester City at the top of the table.
The north Londoners began October with a hard fought win at Burnley before beating Swansea City 3-2 in a thriller after the international break. A frustrating 0-0 draw at home to Middlesbrough was followed by an impressive 4-1 thrashing of Sunderland last weekend.

Antonio Conte
After a difficult start to the new campaign, Chelsea have rediscovered their form after Conte switched to his preferred 3-4-3 formation and it reaped the rewards last month with the Blues winning all four of their league games.
A 2-0 victory over Hull was followed by hugely impressive victories over Leicester and Manchester United that saw Chelsea score seven goal without replay. Conte’s men finished off the month with a 2-0 win at Southampton to cap an excellent month for the club that saw them claw their way back in to the title race.

Jurgen Klopp
Klopp continued his fine start to the new season with three victories in October to maintain Liverpool’s title challenge. A hard fought 2-1 win at Swansea was followed by a 0-0 draw at Anfield against Manchester United before the Reds beat West Brom the following week.
An impressive 4-2 win at Crystal Palace last weekend ensured Liverpool remain level on points with Man City and Arsenal at the top of the table. Klopp is now in the running to win consecutive Manager of the Month awards having won the September prize.

Mark Hughes
Stoke recovered from a terrible start to the season and really found their form last month with Hughes guiding the Potters to wins over Sunderland, Hull and Swansea City.
A battling 1-1 draw at Manchester United means Stoke ended October unbeaten and their 10 points from 12 saw them climb up to 12th place in the table.

All four candidates enjoyed great form in October but for me Antonio Conte is the clear favourite to land the award. We’ll find out who won on November 18th after the upcoming international break.
