Arsenal moved to within three points of the top of the Premier League after beating Bournemouth 3-1 at the Emirates this afternoon thanks largely to a brace from Alexis Sanchez.
We started brightly for once and were rewarded with a gift of a goal as Sanchez pounced on a short Cook back-pass to slot home the opener in the 12th minute.
The visitors seemed to take control of the game after Mathieu Debuchy was forced off with a hamstring injury and Eddie Howe’s side were given the perfect chance to level things up after being awarded a controversial penalty mid-way through the first half.
Nacho Monreal was the offending player as he was adjudged to have fouled Callum Wilson following a clash between the two men and the striker dusted himself off to make it 1-1 from the spot.
However, the Spanish full-back then made amends as he teed-up Theo Walcott to head home at the far post for 2-1 following good work from Mesut Ozil in the 53rd minute.
We then secured a much-needed win in the dying minutes as Olivier Giroud squared for Sanchez to tap home his second from close-range and wrap-up a 3-1 win which moves us to within three points of leaders Chelsea.
