West Brom vs Man Utd Preview, Team News, Line-Ups, Betting Tips & Prediction
Man Utd take on West Brom at the Hawthorns on Saturday evening. Here is a preview with team news, line-ups, betting tips and predicted score.
Manchester United will be looking to make it three Premier League wins on the bounce when they take on West Brom at the Hawthorns on Saturday.
The Red Devils head in to the weekend action off the back of a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Wednesday night which followed a 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.
Those two wins have seen sixth-placed United close the gap on fourth-placed Manchester City to just six points and with their rivals playing Arsenal on Sunday, Jose Mourinho will be desperate to take advantage by picking up another win at the Hawthorns.
However, that won’t be easy as West Brom are in fine form themselves having won four of their last six games with a 3-1 victory over Swansea in midweek seeing Tony Pulis’ side move up to seventh and to within just four points of United.
Betting Tips
United are the 8/11 favourites to win this game but if you want even more value then I like the look of both teams to score at 11/10. It might also be worth putting a few quid on Zlatan Ibrahimovic to score first in a 2-1 United win which is available at tempting odds of 18/1.
Team news
Mourinho welcomes Chris Smalling back in to the squad after the defender recovered from a toe injury that’s kept him out since late October but it remains to be seen whether he’ll force his way past Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo as they’ve both been excellent during his absence.
Antonio Valencia returns from suspension and he’ll replace Eric Bailly in the starting eleven after the Ivory Coast international suffered a minor knee injury in midweek.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan is still nursing an ankle injury which he picked up against Tottenham so he remains on the sidelines along with Luke Shaw.
West Brom welcome Craig Dawson back in to the squad after he missed the win over Swansea through suspension but Pulis may stick with the defence that started that game.
Jonny Evans misses out against his former club due to a calf injury while Saido Berahino is still working his way back to full fitness so he remains out along with goalkeeper Boaz Myhill.
Likely Line-ups
Predicted Score
West Brom 1-2 Man Utd: United look to have turned something of a corner and there is a lot more positivity around the club than there was a few weeks ago. The Baggies are in good form but United have an excellent record at the Hawthorns having suffered only one defeat in their last 12 trips so I’m backing Mourinho’s men to edge this one.
