Arsenal Handed Double Injury Boost Ahead Of Hull Clash

Arsenal have been handed a double injury boost with Hector Bellerin and Lucas Perez training today ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League clash with Hull City, according to Football London.
Bellerin was knocked out during last weeks 3-1 defeat at Chelsea after being caught in the jaw by a stray elbow from Marcos Alonso as he headed home the opening goal.
Arsenal Wenger confirmed after the game that Bellerin was concussed as he didn’t know what the score was when he came around following the incident at Stamford Bridge.
The club have followed FA protocol concerning head injuries by giving the Spanish international six days off and Bellerin has also been given daily assessments by the clubs doctor.
However, the 21-year-old was given the all-clear to return to training today and is now in contention to start against Hull, as long as Wenger and his coaching staff deem the defender fit enough to play.
Gabriel is on stand-by to deputise at right-back in-case the boss decides to give Bellerin more time to recover but I have a feeling we’ll see the Spaniard feature against Hull tomorrow.
In a double boost, London Football also confirm that Lucas Perez is back in training after missing last weeks game with Chelsea due to an ankle injury.
Thankfully the problem has proven to be a minor one so Perez will now be hoping to force his way in to Wenger’s plans tomorrow after struggling to hold down a regular place since his arrival last summer.
We also have more options in midfield as Mohamed Elneny was spotted in training today after returning from the African Cup of Nations showing now signs of the minor calf problem he suffered while away with the Egypt squad in Gabon.
