Man Utd Boss Confirms He’ll Buy “2 or 3 Good Players” This Summer
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed that he’s looking to bring in two or three new players during the summer transfer window
The January transfer window is now closed but we can still look at deals that failed to get across the line and those being lined-up for the summer. Today, Jose Mourinho outlines his summer transfer plans….
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed that he’s looking to bring in two or three new players during the summer transfer window, according to the Mirror.
Mourinho endured a difficult start to his career at Old Trafford after replacing Louis van Gaal as boss in the summer but the Red Devils have rediscovered their form in recent months.
United made it just one defeat in their last 26 games in all competitions after winning the EFL Cup with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Southampton at Wembley on Sunday afternoon and Mourinho has now set his sights on winning further trophies.
Despite being 15 points behind Premier League leaders Chelsea, the Portuguese coach seems relatively happy with the players at his disposal and has ruled out a complete overhaul of his squad this summer.
Mourinho decided against adding to his squad in January but he’s confirmed that he plans to bring in “two or three good players” this summer to compliment his current group and help take United to the next level.
Mourinho is quoted as saying by the Mirror:
“I think with this group of players, the squad we have and the difficulties we are having during the season, I think we are more than fine.
“I think we will be ready in July to open the door for two or three good players to help us to improve our level.
“You reach a certain level of stability, you find your way to play, your philosophy and this is very important. We are stable in the way the team plays and we need one more push.
“The next push is the next transfer window. We didn’t use it in the winter and we are obviously going to use it in the summer and trust the players we have.
“Like Mr Woodward was saying, we will keep a huge percentage of the players we have at this moment in the squad. We need the next push.”
United have been linked with a whole host of top names in recent months but I expect a new left-back to be on Mourinho’s agenda as he clearly doesn’t rate Luke Shaw and he’s used the likes of Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo and Matteo Darmian throughout this season.

A long-term replacement for Michael Carrick in the middle of the park is also needed while I expect Mourinho will bring in a world class striker to take over from Wayne Rooney, with the clubs all-time record goal scorer tipped to leave this summer.
