Arsenal vs Lincoln City Preview, Team News, Line-Ups, Betting Tips & Prediction
Arsenal take on Lincoln City at the Emirates on Saturday evening. Here is a preview with team news, line-ups, betting tips and predicted score.
Arsenal will be looking to put another turbulent week behind them when we welcome Lincoln City to the Emirates in the quarter finals of the FA Cup on Saturday evening.
Arsene Wenger has come under increasing pressure following our 5-1 hammering by Bayern Munich on Tuesday night with another protest planned in the run-up to this fixture as a growing number of fans call for the boss to leave this summer.
Now that we’re out of the Champions League at the last-16 stage yet again and the defeat to Liverpool leaving us 16 points adrift of Chelsea in the Premier League title race, the FA Cup is our only realistic hope of silverware this season.
We head in to the game in woeful form having won just two of our last seven games in all competitions, and one of those was a win over Sutton United in the previous round of the FA Cup.
Lincoln have performed superbly to get to this stage of the competition but there can be no excuse from Arsenal if we don’t beat the non-league side with relative ease at the Emirates.
Team news
Mesut Ozil and Alex Iwobi were both in full training today after complaining of sickness recently but I’m not convinced Wenger will risk the German from the start.
Danny Welbeck missed the Bayern game due to sickness and he wasn’t spotted at training today so it looks as though the attacker will miss out this weekend but Lucas Perez is expected to get a rare start.
Alexis Sanchez was on the bench in the previous round and put in a subdued performance against Bayern amid speculation surrounding his future so I expect we’ll see the Chilean among the substitutes tomorrow.
Aaron Ramsey made a successful return from injury in midweek but he might not be ready for two games in a week just yet so Francis Coquelin is likely to get a recall.
Wenger can’t take too many chances with his line-up so I expect a strong side but Gabriel and Kieran Gibbs could come in while David Ospina is set to start in goal.
Mohamed Elneny and Santi Cazorla remain unavailable due to injury.
Likely Line-Ups
Predicted Score
Arsenal 4-0 Lincoln: Let’s face it, we should thrash the non-league side on home soil but this game is dangerous given our fragile confidence and poor form, not to mention the Lincoln players will be playing out of their skin as this is one of the biggest games in their history. However, if we put in a professional display then we should ease to a comfortable 4-0 win.
