Chelsea Team News: Conte Confirms Injury Boost But Duo Doubtful To Face Stoke
Antonio Conte has confirmed a major injury boost ahead of Chelsea’s trip to Stoke but two other players require late fitness checks.
Chelsea will look to take another huge step towards reclaiming the title when they take on Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Ahead of the game, Antonio Conte has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s given reporters a team news and injury update.
The Italian coach confirmed a major injury boost with the news that Victor Moses was able to train today and is expected to be fit to face Stoke this weekend.
Moses was forced off during the FA Cup win over Manchester United on Monday night after picking up a calf injury and there were fears he might be facing up to three weeks on the sidelines.
However, Conte has revealed that the Nigerian international is already looking good in training and should therefore be available for the trip to the Britannia Stadium tomorrow.
The Chelsea boss also suggested that there were a couple of other players who were doubts for the Stoke game but Conte refused to divulge any more details on those who will need late fitness checks.
Conte is quoted as saying by the Express:
”Victor Moses today he trained, he trained well, I think he’s available. It’s important to to check a couple of situations and then make a decision.”
On other doubts:
“I prefer to keep them for me.”
Chelsea head in to the weekend action sitting ten points clear at the top of the table so they can take another huge step towards reclaiming the title with another win tomorrow.
