Managers are now making plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Arsenal are set to land Sead Kolasinac…

Arsenal are confident of seeing off competition from the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool to secure the free transfer signing of Sead Kolasinac this summer, according to Goal.

Kolasinac has developed in to one of the most highly-rated full-backs in the Bundesliga over the past few years after establishing himself in Jens Keller’s starting eleven with 125 first team appearances to his name.

However, the Bosnian international is set to leave the Veltins-Arena when his contract expires at the end of the season after failing to agree terms over an extension and a move to England has been touted in recent months.

The Daily Mail reported earlier this week that Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool were among the clubs to have registered their interest in signing the defender this summer.

Chelsea reportedly had a £5.3m offer rejected by Schalke in January but Antonio Conte is ready to renew his interest as he looks to bring in competition for Marcos Alonso in the left wing-back position.

Jurgen Klopp is also in the market for a left-back with Alberto Moreno expected to leave this summer after falling out-of-favour and Kolasinac is also seemingly on the Liverpool bosses radar.

However, it looks like Arsenal are now in pole position to secure a free transfer deal as Goal claim the Gunners expect to win the race for his signature after holding further talks with his agent.

Despite on-going doubts over his future at the Emirates, Arsene Wenger is still pushing ahead with his plans for the summer and a new left-back is needed with Kieran Gibbs set to leave after failing to hold down a regular place.

Kolasinac is also capable of playing at centre-back or in a defensive midfield role and Goal say his versatility is one of the prime reasons why Wenger is ready to take him to north London.

We’ll have to see how things develop over the coming weeks but Kolasinac would be a superb signing for any of the clubs being mentioned so Arsenal would have pulled off something of a coup if they do end up snapping him up.
