Chelsea will look to wrap-up the Premier League title when they take on West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns on Friday night.
Here is the team I think Antonio Conte will pick for the game:
Goalkeeper: Thibaut Courtois has fully recovered from a niggling ankle injury that’s hampered him in recent weeks so the Belgian international is almost certain to keep his place between the sticks tomorrow.
Defence: David Luiz came through the Middlesbrough game unscathed after recovering from a minor groin problem that he picked up against Everton earlier this month.
Therefore, the Brazilian international is expected to once again line-up alongside Gary Cahill and Cesar Azpilicueta in the back three as Conte isn’t about to switch things about at this point in the season.
Midfield: N’Golo Kante missed the win over Middlesbrough due to a minor hamstring injury but the French international has been passed fit to return so he should resume his position in midfield.
Kante’s availability gives Conte a selection headache as his replacement against ‘Boro – Cesc Fabregas – was outstanding last time out so it’s going to be difficult for the Blues boss to leave him out.
Therefore, we could see Nemanja Matic make way with Kante lining-up alongside Fabregas in the middle of the park – although Chelsea would ideally want Matic in the side for his height against a big West Brom team.
Otherwise, I don’t think we’ll see any further changes with Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso once again occupying the full-back positions.
Attack: If Conte wants to retain Matic then we could see Fabregas play in a more advanced role with Pedro dropping out but I think the Spaniard will keep his place as we saw against Everton that he’s a real goal threat.
Eden Hazard will obviously keep his place in the attack while Diego Costa will be looking to give his Golden Boot chances a boost after hitting his 20th goal of the season last time out.
Here is how we think Chelsea will line-up:
