Man Utd To Announce Signing Of £70m Chelsea Target This Week
Man Utd are set to wrap-up the signing of Alvaro Morata within the next 48 hours after cutting short his honeymoon to push through his move from Real Madrid
Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd close-in on Alvaro Morata…
Manchester United are expected to wrap-up the signing of Alvaro Morata within the next 48 hours after cutting short his honeymoon to push through his move from Real Madrid, according to reports in Spain via the Mirror.
Morata has been strongly tipped to leave Madrid this summer after struggling to hold down a regular starting spot since moving back to the Bernabeu following a successful two-year stay at Juventus.
The Spanish international managed to start just 16 games last season with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema ahead of him in the pecking order so it’s no wonder Morata has been looking to leave in search of first team football ahead of the 2018 World Cup.
Man Utd have been touted as the front runners as they’ve reportedly been in talks with Madrid for some time but the Express reported earlier this week that Chelsea were still eyeing a last ditch attempt to hijack their rivals proposed move to sign £70m-rated Morata.
Antonio Conte is in the market for a new top class striker after informing Diego Costa he’s no longer in his plans for next season and the Italian is being tipped to try and lure Morata to Stamford Bridge.
However, it looks as though Chelsea may have left it too late as the Mirror are citing reports coming from Diario Gol that claim the 24-year-old is set to wrap-up his move to United by the end of the week.
The Spanish outlet says Morata has left his honeymoon early in order to push through the move with a deal taking him to United expected to be announced within the next 48 hours.
It’s reported that Morata is keen to be a United player well before the club start pre-season training on July 8 but Madrid have been in no hurry to sell as they feel they could get a better deal later in the summer.
However, Diario Gol seem to think a breakthrough is close and Morata should announced as a United player over the coming days and I think he’ll be a superb signing for the Manchester giants.

Jose Mourinho needs to bring in at least one new striker after losing Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Morata has the potential to become one of the best forwards in Europe if he’s given a more prominent role at Old Trafford.
