Chelsea Team News: Conte Confirms Major Injury Boost + Update On His 2 New Signings
Antonio Conte has confirmed a major injury boost ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Leicester plus provided an update on Drinkwater and Zappacosta.
Chelsea will look to make it three wins on the bounce when they take on Leicester City at the King Power on Saturday afternoon.
Ahead of the game, Antonio Conte has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s given reporters a team news and injury update.
The Blues boss was pleased to confirm a major injury boost with the news that Eden Hazard is back in contention to face the 2015/16 Premier League champions this weekend.
Hazard is yet to feature for Chelsea this season after only recently recovering from an ankle injury that he sustained in June but he built-up his fitness by playing for Belgium during the international break.
Conte says the playmaker will at least be in the squad to face Leicester tomorrow but the Blues boss hasn’t decided whether Hazard is fit enough to start the game just yet.
Conte is quoted as saying by the Evening Standard:
“[We don’t have] any injury problems. Someone will be tired but that’s normal. All the players are available and I’m happy for this.
“Eden is available. He is at least in the squad for tomorrow and he is improving a lot. He is working well to be ready. Now I can count on him. I have to decide the right moment and minute about him.
“We are working with him and trying to make him in the best physical condition.
Danny Drinkwater completed a deadline day move from the Foxes and Conte also revealed that the midfielder will be in the squad to face his former side this weekend but it doesn’t sound like the England international will start the game.
Chelsea also completed the signing of full-back Davide Zappacosta last week and Conte has hinted that the Italian international could be ready to feature straight away for his new side.
Conte on Davide Zappacosta: 'He is in good physical condition. He knows very well which is my style and my idea. It's more simple to adapt.'

Chelsea have no fresh injury worries to contend with so the only player unavailable for selection this weekend is Gary Cahill as he serves the final game of his three-match ban.
