Chelsea Team News: Conte Confirms Injury Boost But Midfielder To Miss Arsenal Clash
Antonio Conte has confirmed an injury boost but a midfielder has been ruled out of the visit of Arsenal to Stamford Bridge this weekend.
Chelsea will be looking to continue their excellent recent form when they welcome Arsenal to Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.
Ahead of the game, Antoinio Conte has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s provided a team news and injury update.
The Blues boss was pleased to confirm that Eden Hazard is close to being considered 100% fit after the attacker got another 30 minutes under his belt during the Champions League win over Qarabag in midweek.
Hazard has been eased back in to action in recent games after recovering from a broken foot that he sustained in June but it looks like he could now be in contention to start against the Gunners.
However, the Blues boss also revealed an injury blow with the news that Danny Drinkwater has been ruled out until after the October international break due to his calf problem.
Drinkwater is yet to feature since making a deadline day move from Leicester City and it looks like the midfielder will now have to wait a little while longer before pulling on the Chelsea shirt.
Conte told reporters:
Conte says Hazard is improving and 'is very close to being totally fit'. He reiterates he has to make the best decision for the team. #CFC

Chelsea welcome their London rivals to Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon off the back of four consecutive victories in all competitions so Conte will be desperate to continue that good form this weekend.
