Spain Squad Announced: Chelsea, Liverpool & Man Utd Stars All Called-Up
Chelsea, Liverpool and Man Utd stars have been called up to the Spain squad for their upcoming friendlies against Costa Rica and Russia this month.
Liverpool defender Alberto Moreno has been recalled to the Spain squad for their upcoming friendlies against Costa Rica and Russia this month.
Moreno fell out-of-favour under Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp last season and hasn’t featured for his country since moving to Anfield back in 2014.
However, the left-back has forced his way back in to Klopp’s starting eleven this campaign and has been one of Liverpool’s most consistent performers this season.
The 25-year-old has been rewarded with a call-up to the Spain squad and he’ll be hoping to add to his 3 caps during the friendlies against Costa Rica and Russia during the international break.
Former Liverpool attackers Luis Alberto – now at Lazio – and Suso – now at AC Milan – have also called up by Julen Lopetegui and they’ll be looking to earn their first caps for their countries.
Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea is once again included while Manchester City’s David Silva and Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata are also called-up by Spain.
However, there is no place for Blues midfielder Cesc Fabregas while Arsenal defenders Nacho Monreal and Hector Bellerin have also been overlooked by Lopetegui.
