[Video Goals] Man Utd 4-1 Newcastle: Pogba & Lukaku On Target As Utd Thrash Magpies

Paul Pogba made a dream return as he scored to help guide Manchester United to a 4-1 victory over Newcastle United at Old Trafford this afternoon.

United fell behind in the 14th minute as a slip from Victor Lindelof allowed Dwight Gayle to sweep home from a DeAndre Yedlin cut back to give Newcastle a shock lead.

However, United levelled things up in the 37th minute when Pogba produced a bit of magic down the right with Anthony Martial heading home the midfielder’s cross for 1-1.

Jose Mourinho’s men scored a vital second goal on the stroke of half-time as Chris Smalling scored his first goal of the season with a towering header at the back post from a superb Ashley Young delivery.

The Old Trafford faithful were then on their feet after Pogba pounced on a cushioned Marcus Rashford headed to tap home from close range to make it 3-1 to United in the 54th minute.

The result was put beyond doubt when Romelu Lukaku ended his goal drought with the Belgian international playing a one-two with Juan Mata before smashing in to the roof of the net for 4-1.

That was the end of the scoring and the win sees United reclaim second spot in the Premier League table and move to within eight points of leaders Manchester City:
