Tottenham Team News: Poch Confirms Fitness Boost, Duo Remain Out + Eriksen Latest
Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed a fitness boost ahead of Tottenham’s trip to Watford but two players remain out while there is also an update on Eriksen
Tottenham will be desperate to get back to winning ways when they take on Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday afternoon.
Ahead of the game, Mauricio Pochettino has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s given reporters the latest team news and injury updates.
The Spurs manager was pleased to confirm that Harry Winks is available for selection again after recovering from the illness that kept him out of the defeat to Leicester City on Tuesday night.
Winks has established himself as an important player in the heart of Tottenham’s midfield this season so it will be a huge boost for him to the back in contention this weekend.
However, Spurs will have to continue without the services of Toby Alderweireld and Victor Wanyama as Pochettino says the duo are still working their way back from serious injuries.
Alderweireld has been out since picking up a hamstring injury during the Champions League victory over Real Madrid a month ago and isn’t expected back until after Christmas.
Wanyama has featured just twice so far this season due to a troublesome knee injury and no time-scale has been put on his recovery as he’s been forced to see a specialist to try and overcome the problem.
Christian Eriksen’s form has dropped significantly over the past few games and Pochettino says he feels the attacker is mentally drained following his exploits with the Dutch squad as his stats show he’s in great physical shape.

Pochettino says Eriksen is maybe feeling a little tired following his international exertions with Denmark: "Mentally more than physically because his condition is fantastic, after every game the stats are unbelievable." #COYS

Tottenham head in to the weekend action having taken just one point from their last three Premier League matches and currently sit seventh in the table so Pochettino will be desperate to address that slide with a win at Watford.
