Arsenal take on West Ham at the London Stadium this evening. Here is a preview with the latest team news, line-ups and prediction
Arsenal will look to close-in on the top four with a win when we take on West Ham at the London Stadium this evening.
We head in to the game off the back of Sunday’s disappointing 1-1 draw with Southampton which saw us give away another cheap early goal before salvaging a point with a late equaliser.
The result at St Mary’s has left us sitting sixth in the Premier League table but we could climb as high as fourth with a win tonight if other results go our way.
We’ll face a West Ham side who sit 19th in the division after a nightmare campaign so far but they should be in confident mood after beating Chelsea 1-0 at the weekend.
That was their first win in nine games and was David Moyes’ first victory since replacing Slavan Bilic in the West Ham hot seat so they’ll be looking for another positive result this evening.
Team news
Arsenal will be without Aaron Ramsey after he picked up a hamstring injury against Southampton on Sunday so Jack Wilshere could make his first league start of the season.
Shkodran Mustafi is back in training after recovering from a thigh injury but this game is likely to come too soon. Rob Holding could replace Per Mertesacker in the middle of defence if Arsene Wenger sticks with a back three.
As for the Hammers, they’ll be without Edimilson Fernandes after he picked up an ankle injury in training while James Collins, Sam Byram and Jose Fonte remain out.
Cheikhou Kouyate could return to the squad after recovering from a hamstring injury that kept him out of the Chelsea game.
Expected line-ups
Predicted Score
West Ham 1-2 Arsenal: We’ve won just two league games on the road this season so it’s clear our away form is an issue that needs addressing. The good news is we have an excellent record against West Ham having lost just one of our last 18 meetings and we’re unbeaten in our last nine away games against them. If we can cut out the silly mistakes at the back I think we’ll edge this to secure a much-needed three points.
