3-4-2-1: Wenger To Make 4 Changes | Expected Arsenal XI vs Bournemouth

Arsenal desperately need to get back to winning ways when we take on Bournemouth at Dean Court on Sunday afternoon.

Here is the side Gooner Mac thinks Arsene Wenger will select for the game:

Goalkeeper: We should see a change in goal as Petr Cech is expected to be recalled after being rested for the midweek League Cup game at Chelsea. David Ospina will make way despite keeping a clean sheet at Stamford Bridge.

Defence: Wenger has played a back three in our last four games and we were solid defensively during the 0-0 draw at Chelsea on Wednesday night so he’ll probably stick with that system.

Laurent Koscielny remains out with an Achilles injury while Nacho Monreal is also struggling with an ankle problem so I don’t think we’ll see any changes in defence.

That means Shkodran Mustafi should once again marshall the back three with Rob Holding and Calum Chambers hoping to build on impressive performances in midweek.

Midfield: Sead Kolasinac is expected to once again miss out with an ankle injury so Ainsley Maitland-Niles should keep his place in the left wing-back position on Sunday.

Hector Bellerin will start on the opposite flank while Granit Xhaka should retain his place in the middle of the park after shaking off a minor knock to start against Chelsea on Wednesday night.

However, Jack Wilshere is a doubt after picking up an ankle injury at Stamford Bridge. Thankfully it’s not serious but I don’t think he’ll be risked this weekend given his injury history.

Plus, Aaron Ramsey is back in contention after recovering from a hamstring injury that’s kept him out for the last month so I think we’ll see him replace Wilshere in midfield.

Attack: Mesut Ozil will face a late fitness test after missing the Chelsea game with a knee problem but I wouldn’t be surprised to see the German international return on Sunday.

It’s going to be interesting to see whether Alexis Sanchez starts amid on-going speculation surrounding his future. He was named on the bench in midweek but Wenger hinted at his press conference today that the decision was nothing to do with a possible move so I think we could see Alexis start this weekend.

Alexandre Lacazette is going through a goal drought as he’s not found the target in his last eight games but with Olivier Giroud still out with a hamstring injury I think the Frenchman will keep his place up front.

Danny Welbeck and Alex Iwobi will offer options from the bench while Theo Walcott could also be involved in the squad despite being linked with a move this month.
