Man Utd & Chelsea Battling To Sign 33-Goal Super Star In £53m Deal
Manchester United and Chelsea are ready to battle it out over a £53m deal to sign Paris Saint-Germain hitman Edinson Cavani this summer
The transfer window is closed but managers are working hard on their plans for the summer so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Edinson Cavani is linked with a move to England…
Manchester United and Chelsea are ready to battle it out over a £53m deal to sign Paris Saint-Germain hitman Edinson Cavani this summer, according to a report in the Mirror.
Cavani announced himself as one of the best strikers in the world during a three-year spell at Napoli where he scored 104 goals in 138 games to earn a big-money move to PSG in 2013.
The Uruguayan international has enhanced his reputation in Paris as he’s plundered an incredible 163 goals in 236 appearances to help the French giants win three Ligue 1 titles in four years.
Cavani has already scored 33 goals in just 38 games this season as PSG march towards another title but it seems the striker is growing increasingly frustrated with life in Paris.
The 31-year-old has clashed with Neymar several times following his world record move to the Parc des Princes last summer and it looks like there is room for only one super-star in the PSG dressing room.
The Mirror are citing reports coming from Le Parisien that claim Cavani is eyeing a move this summer with Man Utd and Chelsea ready to offer him a fresh start here in the Premier League.
Cavani’s contract has just over two years left to run so the France publication suggests PSG would be willing to cash-in if an offer worth around £53m was put on the table this summer.
Jose Mourinho is likely to be in the market for a new striker as Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to leave in June and United certainly have the financial firepower to sign a player of Cavani’s stature.
Chelsea are also being tipped to sign a new forward this summer as Alvaro Morata has endured a mixed time of things since joining the club last summer so the Blues could be eyeing Cavani as the man to rejuvenate their attack next season.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming months but I think Cavani would be a superb signing for United or Chelsea and I’d love to see him plying his trade in the Premier League.
