The Manchester United players have been celebrating in the changing room after beating Liverpool 2-1 at Old Trafford this afternoon.
Marcus Rashford has been celebrating with his team mates in the changing room after scoring a double to secure Manchester United a 2-1 victory over Liverpool at Old Trafford this afternoon.
United started well and opened the scoring in the 14th minute as Rashford latched on to a Romelu Lukaku flick-on, cut inside Trent Alexander-Arnold and found the bottom corner with a superb effort for 1-0.
The England international was causing Liverpool all sorts of problems and Rashford doubled United’s lead 10 minutes later as he lashed home a loose ball in the area following more good work from Lukaku.
Liverpool reduced the deficit thanks to an own goal from Eric Bailly shortly after half-time but the Merseysiders couldn’t find an equaliser as United held on to secure a vital victory over their north-west rivals.
The win sees Jose Mourinho’s men cement their position in second place in the table as they’ve now extended their lead to five points over Liverpool with just eight games remaining.
It’s no surprise that the United players have been celebrating and Rashford has uploaded a photo to his Twitter account of him posing for a photo in the changing room with several of his team mates after the game today.
