Man Utd take on Sevilla at Old Trafford this evening. Here is a preview with the latest team news, line-ups and prediction
Manchester United will be looking to book their place in the quarter finals of the Champions League when they take on Sevilla at Old Trafford this evening.
The Reds warmed up for the game with an impressive 2-1 victory over Liverpool at the weekend but United will be fully focussed on European matters tonight.
Jose Mourinho’s men were perhaps fortunate to come away with a 0-0 draw from the first leg in Spain with David De Gea producing an excellent display to prevent United from losing the game.
Sevilla come in to the match off the back of a 2-0 defeat to Valencia but they’ve won four of their last six away games so United won’t be taking anything for granted against the La Liga outfit.
Team news
Paul Pogba missed the win over Liverpool on Saturday with a minor leg injury but he was able to take part in training yesterday so could be in contention this evening.
Marouane Fellaini is pushing for a recall if Pogba misses out after recovering from a knee injury but Ander Herrera, Marcos Rojo, Phil Jones and Daley Blind remain sidelined.
Anthony Martial is back in contention after recovering from a knock but Marcus Rashford is expected to keep his place in attack after scoring both goals against Liverpool.
Sevilla will have to make do without former Manchester City winger Jesus Navas as he’s been ruled out through injury.
Expected line-ups
Predicted Score
Man Utd 2-1 Sevilla: United will know 0-0 is a dangerous scoreline as an away goal will leave them needing to score at least 2 to progress. However, Mourinho is a specialist in navigating these sorts of games and I’m confident United will win tonight. I expect a cagey start but back the hosts to win 2-1 to progress to the quarter finals.
