Anthony Martial wants to join Arsenal, Chelsea or Tottenham this summer and the London trio are ready to test Manchester United resolve with £60m bids, according to a report by TeamTalk.

Martial forged a reputation as one of the most exciting young talents in European football during his time at Monaco which earned him a move to United in the summer of 2015.

The 22-year-old has provided 36 goals and 27 assists in his 131 appearances in all competitions so far at Old Trafford but Martial has struggled to hold down a regular first team spot under Jose Mourinho.

The French international has started just 16 league games this season and hasn’t started a match in any competition since being accused of ‘hiding’ by Mourinho following the 2-0 FA Cup win over Brighton a month ago.

It’s led to speculation that Martial has grown increasingly frustrated with his bit-part role following the arrival of Alexis Sanchez in January and will look for a fresh start this summer.

Several top European clubs have been linked but TeamTalk are citing a report from Le10 Sport that claims Martial will make it clear to United he wants to remain in the Premier League.

The French publication says Martial is willing to join either Arsenal, Chelsea or Tottenham and the London trio are all prepared to pay £60m to sign the young attacker at the end of the season.

No doubt United would prefer to sell Martial abroad if he was to leave this summer so I think the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are going to struggle to persuade them in to doing business with a domestic rival.

However, one factor that could affect things is Martial’s contract situation. The Frenchman’s deal expires in 2019 and although United have the option to automatically extend it until 2020, reports suggest Martial has turned down the chance to sign a long-term extension.

If the player makes it clear he won’t pen a new deal then United may decide it’s best to cash-in this summer while they can still command a decent transfer fee rather than see his value drop and that could pave the way for a move to the capital.
