“Liverpool Want To Sign Him” – Chief Confirms Klopp Want’s To Sign Brazilian Star
Roma president James Pallotta has confirmed Liverpool want to sign Alisson Becker but insists they have no intention of selling the goalkeeper.
The transfer window may be closed but managers are working hard on their plans for the summer so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, the latest on Liverpool’s interest in Alisson Becker…
Roma president James Pallotta has confirmed Liverpool want to sign Alisson Becker but insists they have no intention of selling the goalkeeper, according to the Metro.
Alisson has developed in to one of the best keepers in Europe since joining Roma from Inter Milan almost two years ago and he’s now also a regular with the Brazilian national team.
The 25-year-old’s impressive form has attracted interest from several top clubs with Liverpool among those to be strongly linked with a swoop for the stopper ahead of the summer transfer window.
Jurgen Klopp is expected to be in the market for a new goalkeeper at the end of the season as Simon Mignolet is set to leave having lost his first team place to Loris Karius in recent months.
The young German has shown plenty of promise but Liverpool are still being tipped to sign a more established No.1 and it seems Alisson has emerged as a prime target for Klopp.
Pallotta has now confirmed Liverpool’s interest in signing the 6ft 3in keeper but the Roma chief insists they have no intention of cash-in this summer even if huge offers arrive.
Roma sold key players like Mohamed Salah and Miralem Pjanic last summer but Pallotta believes they won’t have to sell Alisson as the Italian club are more financially stable this time around.
Pallotta is quoted by the Metro as saying:
‘I am not going to sell him [Alisson]. Liverpool want to sign him and we are on very good terms with him.
‘I am sure we will receive some huge offers this summer. We don’t want to sell him but the decision must also be taken by Monchi and the manager. We want to build the future of Roma around him.’
‘We had no choice when we sold Salah and Pjanic. If they had told me they wanted to stay we could have talked and find a solution but Salah wanted to prove himself in the Premier League.’
‘We have some issues with the Financial Fair play but we think everything will be sorted soon.’
Liverpool will get a chance to see first hand just how good Alisson really is when Roma arrive at Anfield tonight for the first leg of their Champions League semi-final.

However, it looks like the Merseysiders face a tough battle to persuade Roma to sell the keeper this summer so Klopp may have to look elsewhere in his search for a new No.1.
