Jurgen Klopp has offered an injury update on Sadio Mane, Jordan Henderson, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez following Liverpool’s 0-0 draw with Stoke City.

Mane wasn’t risked against the Potters at Anfield today after picking up a minor calf injury earlier this week and Liverpool were sweating over his fitness ahead of the AS Roma game on Wednesday night.

However, Klopp has revealed a major boost after confirming that the attacker will be available for the Champions League semi-final second leg in Italy next week.

Mane was certainly missed today as Liverpool were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw by Stoke at Anfield and the Merseysiders also picked up three fresh injury concerns during the match.

Alexander-Arnold suffered a dead leg during the early stages but managed to play on until eventually being replaced by Nathaniel Clyne midway through the second half.

Henderson needed treatment from the medial team after twisting his ankle shortly after half time but the Reds skipper was able to carry on and complete the full ninety minutes.

Gomez also picked up a similar ankle injury during the first half and Klopp says he will liaise with the medical team over the coming days to determine how serious the injuries are.

Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com:

“Sadio did not play but he will be fine for Wednesday,” Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com:

“Trent, who started brilliantly in the new position in the half-space, got a dead leg in the first situation,”

“He got a dead leg around the hip; he was limping but always gave a thumbs-up to carry on. I thought the best thing with a dead leg was to keep on going so at one point it will be better, but then I spoke again to the medical department and they told me it was better to take him off, so we did.”

“I met the Doc and we will see what happens in the next two or three days,”

“How it always is after a game, [we have] knocks here and there. Hendo obviously twisted his ankle but could carry on, so that’s rather good than a bad sign.

“But until Wednesday is not the longest break in the world, so we will see. Joe got an early knock as well and twisted his ankle as well a little bit, so we will have to see about that. We will see.”

Liverpool will be praying Alexander-Arnold, Henderson and Gomez all make swift recoveries as they face a crucial trip to Rome on Wednesday night for the second leg of their Champions League tie and they’re already without a number of players.

Emre Can and Adam Lallana are struggling to play again this season while Joel Matip and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are certain to miss the rest of the campaign so more injuries is the last thing Klopp needs right now.
