CHAMAKH WANTS ARSENAL MOVE
By Fab4.
The latest transfer news doing the rounds this morning is that long-term Arsenal target Marouane Chamakh wants to come to England and play in the Premier League when his contract expires at Bordeaux in the summer, and the club that he desires most is Arsenal.
“My future? Well, I hold all the cards, I have no reason to be under pressure but everyday passing by, I am a little less a Bordeaux player,” he revealed.
“My choice is to join Premier League and if I could choose, I will go to Arsenal.
“Bordeaux has brought me so much. I will soon clearly state things so the club can prepare to find my replacement peacefully.”
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been a long-term admirer of Chamakh and tried to sign him last summer, but terms couldn’t be agreed. The likes of Everton, Juventus, Sunderland, Tottenham and Liverpool have all shown an interest in snapping up the talented Moroccan forward, but it now seems Arsenal are firm favourites to sign him on a free transfer this summer.
Although this is good news for Gunners fans, many would have liked to see the striker join during January to provide much needed striker cover with RVP out injured. I like the look of Chamakh, at 26 he can’t be called a youngster, has experience in the Champions League, is over 6ft tall and has good technique. His goal scoring record isn’t great but he will provide Arsenal with a different dimension.
Hopefully this deal goes through and Arsene snaps him up soon to avoid a long drawn out will-he wont-he transfer saga during the summer.
